MorphMarket is hiring a Remote Senior React Native and Django Full Stack Developer
MorphMarket is the world's biggest marketplace for exotic animals (snakes, lizards, etc.) with over a million users. We're growing fast and branching into aquatics amongst other areas.
**Culture:**
We run a calm, zero politics, zero finger-pointing operation where the focus is on high-quality technical work, on improving as engineers, and on teamwork (in the sense of solving hard problems by communicating and sharing knowledge).

You'll need BOTH React Native and Django/Python skills to fill this role. If you don't have significant experience in either of these areas, please do not apply. We specifically need someone who can solve problems that require deep knowledge of both technologies and previous hires missing either of these two weren't able to crack our technical problems.
Knowledge of WebViews is a huge plus.
Other good skills to have
- Django Rest Framework - Swift - Expo - App release processes and navigating app store challenges - Shell scripting - Kotlin - Heroku - SQL speed optimization - React.js - HTTP caching - Queue systems - AWS - Multi-threaded code - Long-form technical communication
**Commitment**
We're looking for 32 hours a week or more, long term. Contractual basis.

Carebit is a design-led healthcare technology company helping hundreds of private doctors across the UK run their practices more effectively and efficiently with our web platform, along with hundreds of thousands of their patients. Weโre now looking to build out a greenfield mobile app to enhance and complement our web platform. Having carefully evaluated the options, we have chosen to go with React Native as a base with Expo, with possibly a small amount of native work on top.ย
Our loyal customers love our product, are generous with feedback, and love to work with us in helping to build a best-of-breed platform with us. Having doubled in revenue in 2023, weโre now looking for a talented, curious, empathetic mid/senior React Native developer with a strong focus on product to help them and us on this mission. You'll be working directly with some of our customers to help build the product, which is how we love to build and we'll give you the autonomy and ownership to do so.
Some of the initial features you will be working on are:
Recording audio, editing and uploading it
Taking multiple photos and editing and uploading them
Handling offline mode
Writing handwritten notes with Apple Pencil and uploading them
Any other features that you come up with after working with customers! We find some of our best features are built this way when customers show us a way of working that we hadn't considered before.
We are a bootstrapped, profitable and fully-remote company of 12 (3 full stack developers), and we intend to keep it that way. Having been remote from day 1, we believe in its benefits. We run on Rails 7.1, Ruby 3.2, React 18 and are deployed on AWS ECS with a full CI/CD setup for frequent shipping. We use Linear to keep everyone in sync. The founder, Dominic, is a full stack developer and knows how to build a creative, collaborative environment that's well-suited to creative product development!
About you
Youโll consider yourself to be a mid-senior level developer with solid technical ability and good communication, but what really sets you apart is your love of product engineering. Youโre not so interested in pumping out leetcode, but instead youโre looking for a rewarding, creative environment in which to quickly create, prototype, iterate and ship where your work has immediate real-world impact on doctors and patients.
You like coming up with your own feature ideas and flourish in environments that encourage this
You like working in small teams and believe in the ability of small, focussed teams to outperform relative to their size
You are design-focussed and will be able to show off some of your own, or examples of work you admire
You love to ship frequently
Requirements
You have demonstrable experience with mobile UI and UX development and know how to implement performant mobile experiences
Proven ability to take a brief idea from a customer to a designed, shipped and tested feature that wows
Ability to see the big picture when building a feature (e.g. how it can be made modular or flexible to accommodate changes in future, or where else could it be deployed in the Carebit application)
A keen eye for UI and UX, colour, simplicity and hierarchy in design
2+ years of React & React Native development
Experience of using Expo to build and deploy React Native apps
Nice to have but not required - iOS Swift/Android development and Ruby on Rails experience, as well as React experience on the web
Benefits
Working on tech for good, where your work directly contributes to bettering the lives of patients every day
Salary in the range of ยฃ70k-80k depending on experience (equivalent to $80k-100k USD)
End of year bonus based on performance
25 days paid holiday per year

We're looking for aย fullstack developer ninjaย to join our team of 18 at Internet Game.
Youโll be working with a team of 3 other fullstack developers to build out our web platform for playing a library of Unity games using WebGL. Youโll work across the stack, but with more of a focus on the frontend.
Our Code Stack:
React/NextJS + Tailwind

You're the best at what you do and have strong ideas of the best way to build things
You're detail-oriented & hyper-organized, but you move quickly
You actively seek to upgrade your skills and learn new things
You're excited about building something awesome with a highly skilled yet super playful team
Internet Game is inspired by innovative projects that combined social apps with gaming, like Pokemon Go and HQ Trivia. We take the highly social aspects of AAA games like Fortnite and apply them to casual games that anyone can play.
We launched as an experiment back in March 2022. 8000 players battled through 5 mini-games across 5 days, elimination-style (inspired by Squid Game). Those still in at the end won huge prizes.
Since then, we've raised $7M and expanded our fully-remote team to 18 people.
Now we're building out our platform to allow anyone to play our ever-growing library of mini-games.
Our mission is to create new ways for the world to play together.
Interested? We'd love to have you on board.

This job post is closed and the position is probably filled. Please do not apply. Work for LoanCrate and want to re-open this job? Use the edit link in the email when you posted the job!
What is LoanCrate?
We started LoanCrate to make home-buying simpler and less expensive for lenders and borrowers (us!). Today, mortgage lenders are stuck running their companies on software products built 20 years ago. These products are slow and unstable, and end up costing lenders millions of dollars in other otherwise preventable mistakes every year. LoanCrate solves those problems and more, helping lenders improve the home-buying experience for people all over the country.
Since starting in January 2021, our remote team has raised $9m, grown to 15 people, and launched our first product. And since adopting LoanCrate in June '21, our customers have used LoanCrate to power >$50 billion in new home loans. As a company, we're on track to be cash-flow positive in 2023.
Our team is a group of people excited to tackle the complexity of the home-lending industry. We care about collaboration, very open communication covering the good & the bad so that we learn from our decisions quickly, and ultimately having fun while we're building. You'll fit in well if you like diving deep quickly!
The opportunity
Our dreams are big and we have much to build! We're looking for senior software engineers to help lead our team in powering the future of home buying in the US (which could entail managing a majority of US home loans every year โ financial assets worth trillions of dollars).
We are excited to offer competitive salary and equity for this role.
What to expect
As an engineer at LoanCrate, you'll continue our team tradition by shipping code to production on your first day! Following that, within your first month, you'll dive into your first mission-critical project, such as...
๐ Architecting, building, and launching v2 of our no-code platform that our customers use to digitize their ops workflows and save millions of dollars per year.
๐ค Integrating with 3rd-party providers of lending services APIs to generate documents/disclosures, produce automated underwriting results, or prevent fraud.
๐ Architecting, building, and launching the next generation of our job processing infrastructure on AWS to make LoanCrate's back end more observable and reliable.
Tech stack
Nearly all of our code is written in TypeScript. We use React on the frontend, Node/Express on the backend (running inside Docker), GraphQL/Apollo on both sides, and Postgres as our database. We use AWS (ECS, RDS, ElastiCache, SNS, and more) and manage all of our infrastructure with Terraform.
We believe that high engineering velocity drives high product velocity (and, in turn, our success as a company ๐). Keeping this in mind, we've invested heavily in creating a great developer experience that enables engineers to ship fast. Some highlights of our stack:
โ๏ธ End-to-End Type Safety - We generate TypeScript types from our Postgres and GraphQL schemas so that when we change our database schema we see type errors in any incompatible frontend React components.
๐ Full-Stack Code Sharing - Our build tooling supports seamless sharing of TypeScript files between the client, server, and other packages in our mono-repo so that we never have to define functions or configuration values twice.
๐ Reproducible Infrastructure - Weโve used Terraform to manage 100% of our infrastructure since day 1 and have configured our CI pipeline to automatically deploy temporary staging environments for every pull request. We use these per-PR environments to get feedback from teammates and test any infrastructure changes using infrastructure that's identical to production.
๐งช First Class Testing Utilities - We have a comprehensive library of utilities that mock production-like data and feed automated end-to-end, integration, and performance tests. Our wide-ranging test suite allows us to move fast while maintaining nearly perfect uptime.
Preferred skills and background
(It's okay not to have all of these things - these are just some skills we are excited about!)
๐ A constant and keen eye for security risks โ we store and display some of people's most sensitive personal data and need to keep it safe!
๐จ A desire to be product-oriented, from thinking through the product implications of what you're building to contributing your unique ideas of how to improve the product.
๐๏ธ Ability to develop readable, maintainable, and effective software architecture patterns that support use of our product by various enterprise customers (each with thousands of employees and their own methods for running their companies).
๐ฉโ๐ซ๐จโ๐ซ Excitement to mentor less senior engineers in both hard and soft skills.
๐ SRE-oriented mindset for developing infrastructure that's reliable, observable, and requires minimal toil to maintain.
๐ฉ๏ธ Experience scaling high-throughput distributed systems in the cloud. Bonus points if you're experienced with infrastructure-as-code solutions like Terraform or CloudFormation!
๐ง Ability to develop full-stack web app features from design through deployment.
๐ข๏ธ Experience designing and scaling complex relational DB schemas, as well as figuring out performant ways to store, retrieve, and update such data. Home loans have thousands of data fields ๐.

Hello ๐ Weโre looking for a part-time full-stack software engineer to join us at Rephonic โ a B2B SaaS startup in the podcasting space with customers that include well-known companies like Google, HubSpot, TIME magazine, Penguin Random House and the BBC.
The role is part-time for 3 days per week but it could grow into a full-time role later (only if youโre open to that, no pressure).
This role is flexible and asynchronous (generally we donโt have meetings, standups or calls) so itโs perfect for a digital nomad, a new parent, or someone pursuing other interests or a side project. You can spread the hours throughout the week however you like.
Weโre headquartered in the UK but the company is fully remote and the team is spread all over the world.
Three years in, our mission is to build the best outreach and research database for podcasts. The goal is to model the entire podcast industry and that means collecting and organising a lot of disparate data and visualising it in a useful, friendly format.
You may also be working on our other product Reletter (itโs built on the same stack) and perhaps other apps in the future.
The Stack
You should have strong skills in at least one of either React or Python and be open to learning about any pieces that youโre missing from the list below.
React / Next.js
Python
Django
Elasticsearch
Redis
PostgreSQL
Docker
Ideally You Are
๐ A motivated self-starter whoโs comfortable working without too much day-to-day supervision
๐ง Someone who (at least occasionally!) listens to podcasts
๐ค A bit of data geek (we collect and transform a lot of it)
๐ฌ Comfortable working in a remote, asynchronous team environment with mostly chat-based communication
The Role
Youโll take responsibility for substantial parts of our development and ship new features from scratch.
Some examples of features you might build:
Figure out how to integrate podcasts uploaded to YouTube with our existing database
Build a "Google Trends for podcasts" tool using our data
A/B test changes to the onboarding flow in order to increase conversions
Requirements
3+ years of experience
Availability for at least 3 days per week (i.e. 3 x 8 hours, so 24 hours in total) but you can split and spread the hours throughout the week, however you like
Strong written English skills
This is a contract role so youโll need to be registered as a freelancer (or similar) and be able to issue invoices to the company
You use either Linux or macOS for your work
Remuneration
US $72,000 per year (for 3 days of work per week, equivalent to ~$120k full-time)
