Reddit is hiring a Remote Engineering Manager iOS Platform
\nReddit is continuing to grow our teams with the best talent. We're completely remote friendly and will continue to be after the pandemic.\n\nApps Platform works as a platform team for all other mobile engineers at Reddit to build on top of. Our customers are primarily other engineers. Itโs our job to help improve developer efficiency by providing libraries/APIs/frameworks, monitoring performance, building shared components, improving build tools, etc. In the codebase, we own the core components of the app such as the networking and caching stack. We set the direction in which the codebase builds towards by defining which design patterns and technologies to employ at Reddit. We also frequently moonlight as the โcatch-allโ team for features that donโt fit neatly into another teamโs roadmap. As Redditโs greater engineering team scales up, Apps Platform is also responsible for innovating and building new processes and methods to continuously support a greater number of customers without linearly scaling the team size as well.\n\nAs the Engineering Manager on Redditโs iOS Platform Team, youโll use your engineering, collaboration, and leadership skills to deliver a performant experience to millions of Redditors, and lead the architectural decision-making of Redditโs iOS engineering organization. You'll collaborate cross-functionally to innovate and replace our internal frameworks and tooling to help Redditโs feature teams write performant code without a second thought. This is a critical role for enabling Reddit's future growth plans. \n\nWhat Youโll Do: \n\n\nBuild, hire and lead a high-caliber team of iOS Mobile developers.\n\nBe responsible for setting and maintaining latency, stability, and developer productivity goals for the Mobile Applications.\n\nCoach and mentor engineers on the team to further their professional development.\n\nSet and support a metrics-driven culture, with efficient processes and strong transparency. \n\nWork with feature teams across the company to follow the best practices and to deliver high quality code for Redditโs Mobile applications.\n\n\n\n\nWho You Might Be: \n\n\nPreferred: 4-8 years experience of leading a team of software engineers, as a people manager.\n\n8+ years of experience developing internet-scale software, preferably in Mobile development, or Platform development roles. \n\nStrong experience in setting the goals, execution, and accountability.\n\nExperience in iOS native mobile platform.\n\nSoftware development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages and mobile frameworks; Obj-c, Swift, Java, Python, Go etc.\n\nStrong organizational skills, Influential skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule.\n\nExcellent communication, planning & collaboration skills\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
