This work directly impacts creation of experiences to delight customers across the world.\n\nThe Carta Business Development team is seeking a Principal Business Development Manager - VC. This leader will be working with top venture capital (VC) firms to grow Cartaโs network, deepen existing relationships, and develop additional business opportunities across our venture network. The Business Development team works cross-functionally (product, delivery, marketing, legal, and PR) to drive ecosystem partnerships to accelerate our growing business. Ideal candidates will be energized by building and managing external relationships, cross-functional collaboration, digging into data, finding scalable and repeatable best practices, constructing strategic communications, and helping to change practice across a dynamic industry. \nThe Problems Youโll Solve \n\n\nDrive overall Carta partnerships strategy in the venture community\n\nDevelop and nurture relationships with VC investors (CVC, Institutional, Emerging Managers) to establish mindshare of Carta as a must-have product for investor operations and portfolio companies\n\nIdentify and develop new long-term relationships to grow Cartaโs network and business, and create champions for Cartaโs products within the venture ecosystem\n\nWork cross-functionally across the business with Sales, Marketing, Product, Legal, Implementations, and Support; convey feedback from the field to internal stakeholders.\n\nDiscover, capture, and report learnings from the field about customer challenges and opportunities as they relate to Cartaโs business and products.\n\nInfluence Cartaโs roadmaps, and create a pipeline of external partners that could strengthen Cartaโs products and services services\n\nDeliver persuasive, passionate, high impact, high quality presentations to senior decision makers\n\nPost-COVID: Operate in the field as a representative of Carta, meeting with current and prospective partners and attending industry events on Cartaโs behalf (up to 25% travel) \n\n\n\nThe Impact Youโll Have\n\nYou will expand Cartaโs distribution and market share by helping us leverage our existing network and deepen working relationships with key investment firms - and developing relationships with new ones. You roll up your sleeves to partner with colleagues from across the company to explore whatโs possible and drive results. \n\nQualifications\n\n\nSignificant knowledge of the tech & venture ecosystem \n\nStrong communication, presentation, and networking skills, with experience leading meetings with key leaders and decision makers \n\nDeep understanding of SaaS business models\n\nProven ability to set and execute against a complex product-segment strategy\n\nAbility to think strategically and creatively using sound business judgment.\n\n8-10 years of relevant business development and/or strategic partnerships experience in the venture capital and/or high-tech industries.\n\n\n\n\nNice-to-Have\n\n\nPrior experience managing relationships with high-profile ecosystem partners including venture funds, accelerators, or founder communities\n\nUnderstanding of equity management, liquidity, fund administration, or valuation services. \n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
