My name is William Luongo. I have a bachelor's degree in English, and I have been a teacher for eight years. I have taught all grade levels from kindergarten to adult learners, but the majority of my classroom time has been in middle school and high school. I have a great passion for education, and a strong desire to help students discover new knowledge, unlock their abilities, and explore their ideas. I believe in developing multiple differentiated approaches to presenting new materials and concepts to a class, in order to keep all students interested and engaged.

I have taught both in school classrooms, and online. Specific areas of English Language Arts which I have extensive experience teaching include: vocabulary, reading, writing, grammar, phonics, pronunciation, reading comprehension, homework help, proofreading and editing papers, SAT preparation, IELTS preparation, KET/PET/FCE preparation, IGCSE preparation, literary analysis, literature comprehension, poetry (both reading and writing), imagery analysis, fiction writing, academic writing, summary writing, letter writing (both formal and informal), writing reviews and articles, critical thinking, speaking skills, and listening skills.

I developed and taught middle school and high school classes in Creative Writing and Public Speaking. I planned and developed a Nonfiction Reading and Writing course, and designed the lessons and materials for it.

I practice patience, empathy, and kindness in my interactions with students and parents. I am comfortable working independently or as part of a team, and able to solve problems and resolve conflicts when they arise.

I am ideally seeking a position in education, but I am open to new opportunities in other fields. I have several years of retail sales experience, before I became a teacher, so I am adept at customer service, customer relations, customer support, and sales.

I am proficient in microsoft word, excel, and powerpoint. I am also experienced with navigating online teaching platforms, including zoom and skype. I am a fast learner, and easily adapt to new methods.
