I'm a flexible software developer adept at a number of languages and frameworks, due to my understanding of the fundamentals of programming rather than a specific syntax. I'm a strong believer in TDD and understand the concepts of OOP and functional programming.

I consider myself a “creative” developer, I prefer to quickly prototype ideas and solutions to find the best way to move forward before building it “for real” using best practices and TDD, this has enabled me to become very efficient, while also writing SOLID code that is both easy to read and understand, and give other developers confidence in. I have known people on teams I have worked in start to mimic my methods when they realise how effective they are, which is really great for me to know that when I’ve been contracting on teams, I have left the teams in a better state than when I first joined them.

My frontend experience has mainly been with Vue.js but I am equally as comfortable working with React, there are some things that I feel React does better, some things Vue does better and it really comes down to what's best for the job and what the team as a whole is comfortable with.

I am very focussed on constant improvement and learning, which means I'm always full of fresh ideas, however I am also aware that from a business sense, rewriting a platform from the ground up every 10 minutes to use the latest bleeding edge technology is not just impractical, but also damaging to the company.
