I, Veera Kasi Reddy Nakka, work as a Senior Toxicologist at Philips in Pune, India. My current role involves the Toxicological Risk Assessment of Medical Devices, including Biological safety evaluation and Biocompatibility Risk Assessment. I have completed my masters “M.S. (Pharm) in Pharmacology & Toxicology” from National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Hyderabad with distinction (8.4 CGPA) which represents a strong background of my core competency.
In my previous roles, I gained experience working as a Toxicology Specialist at Actalent for the JnJ Ethicon Division, as well as serving as a Team Lead-Toxicology at ClinChoice. During my time at Clinchoice India Pvt Ltd, I focused on conducting Toxicological Risk assessments for Cosmetics, Personal Care Products, and Pharmaceutical Actives. Additionally, I worked as a regulatory Toxicologist at Interk and Clinchoice, where I was involved in evaluating the safety and toxicity of Cosmetics, personal care products, and chemicals. I also conducted the preparation of toxicological profiles for chemicals and determined the Margin of exposure and Margin of safety for Cosmetic ingredients and formulations. I also worked for Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Hazard Communication Specialist, focusing mainly on Safety Data Sheet (SDS) authoring and publishing, classification and labeling of chemicals according to GHS standards and CLP regulations, and classification of dangerous goods according to IATA regulations.
