I’m Fofo Gavua, a filmmaker and visual artist with over 12 years of experience in directing, cinematography, and post-production. My journey in storytelling began with a background in Political Science from the University of Ghana, and later took shape through formal training at Vancouver Film School, where I specialized in directing and cinematography.

Over the years, I’ve written, directed, and produced a wide range of projects—from award-winning short films like Sophie to my debut feature film Lucky, which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime. My work spans fiction, documentary, and commercial storytelling, and I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with organizations such as USAID, Ecobank, and Fidelity Bank.

Currently, I serve as Creative Director at Songhai Pictures and work as a Technical Assistant at the AG Leventis Digital Resource Centre, where I help produce and manage digital assets for cultural preservation. I’m passionate about crafting visuals that provoke thought and emotion, and I’m always exploring new ways to tell stories that reflect the complexity and beauty of our world.
