I am a person who has always had a profound passion and fascination for areas requiring an analytical approach. Right from early days at school, Mathematics has intrigued me.

The most challenging of all problems were my favourites and obtaining solutions to them would leave me with a sheer feeling of ecstasy. I always did and always would thrive on solving the most challenging problems. With a compelling desire to excel, hard work became my second nature.

My aspiration for a technical career prompted me to take up an undergraduate program in Mathematics at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike (http://mouau.edu.ng ).

During the first two years of my undergraduate study, I studied courses like, Elementary Mathematics, Modern Algebra, Linear Algebra, Real Analysis etc.

These courses helped me gain a strong background in the fundamentals of Mathematics. These were aptly complemented by the laboratory courses. The challenging assignments that were a part of the laboratory courses helped me to develop the required technical and programming skills.

During the last two years of my study, I took advanced courses like Mathematical modelling, Metrics Space Topology, Functional Analysis and Numerical Analysis which helped in shaping my career objective and goals.

My final year project entitled “Application of Matrices to Cryptography”, was carried out with an objective of using matrices to bring strong security network using cryptography Hill cipher algorithm was used to encrypt and decrypt the data.

Although a focused academic, I balanced my scholastic efforts by participating in extracurricular activities. I was elected as the President of Mathematics Association of the school and one of my achievement was a seminar I organized for the Departmental Association tagged “Why Study Mathematics”, and this was to bring to the full awareness of the students that mathematics goes beyond the solving of equations or working with numbers, that it’s a vital tool to solving various problems. The Vice Chancellor and other Distinguish professors and lecturers who were in attendance gave a clear exposition on their various field.

Further studies were always a priority for me but it was my belief that before I embark on it, I must gather some valuable work experience in order to gain a larger perspective of the industry.

In keeping with this idea I joined GarmentCare Ltd (https://garmentcareltd.com ) as a Customer Relations Data Analyst. The experience garnered turned out to be extremely enriching for me on a host of levels as it sharpened my research and analytical skills. It has inculcated in me team spirit and the ability to interact and work with both colleagues and seniors in a proactive manner.

My present job as Data Analyst for Leadway Assurance Ltd has helped me develop a thorough insight into the world of Data Analytics.

I have been actively developing myself by learning important software which are but not limited to SQL, Python, Power Bi, Tableau, Matlab, Advanced excel and I look forward to learning more.
