I am a qualified Electrical/Electronic engineer with 13 years' experience in the telecommunication industry. My role focused on the introduction of new technology (with experience in point-to-point microwave and DC Power) to the company. Key functions in this role were to identify the technological requirements for the technology portfolio, writing of the technical specification, evaluation of bidder responses, selection of systems to be added to the technology portfolio, contract negotiation, writing of the technical work instructions and quality assurance documents for the systems, and ongoing technical interfacing between the company and the supplier. Focus areas of technology selection were safety, compliance with relevant standards (IEC and SANS), lifecycle cost efficiency and compatibility with existing systems.

I have gained managerial experience by leading a small team since 2017; my functions include setting of individual team members' targets, evaluation of team members' performance, addressing disciplinary issues and addressing poor performance.
