Mildred Otsieno
Until March 2022, Mildred Otsieno served as the Regional Corporate Partnerships Adviser, with Norwegian Refugee Council โ East Africa &Yemen, where she collaborates with the Private Sector, High Networth Individuals, Corporate and Private Foundations to support NRCโs activities in displaced personsโcamps and host communities, rural and urban immigrants in hard to reach areas and schools.
Previously, she was responsible for the implementation, management and promotion of partnerships of Yu-Hub Africaโs and DOT Africa alliance and its related activities in the region. She was also the point of coordination for CSR, and lead in giving visibility to Yu-Hub Africaโs leadership and supporting DOT Africaโs social innovation programs in Africa.
Mildred was also the Citizenship & Corporate Affairs Lead at IBM East Africa for 6 years, where she was responsible for strategic management & implementation of the Citizenship function for the organization. Mildred also worked as the Functional Head Sponsorships, CSR & Brand Communications at Telkom (Orange) Kenya Ltd. In this position, she was charged with the development of the overall CSR strategies, sponsorship and brand communications to deliver against brand, communication and commercial strategy. She has also worked with Safaricom Limited and Safaricom Foundation earlier in her career.
She holds a B.A Communication from Daystar University, Nairobi and currently pursuing a Master's degree in International Relations.
When not out changing lives in the communities, she enjoys swimming and playing basketball as hobbies. She is also a big fan of Manchester United and Gor Mahia FC. She also serves as Vice Chair on the Board of Management of Bukhalalire High School, Busia County and is also a member of thee Rotary Club of Muthaiga.
