I am an experienced software and data engineering specialist with 10+ years of extensive experience in designing and developing complex software systems and ETL and ELT processes that process millions of both structured and semi-structured data. I have a master’s degree in Information Technology (IT) and a bachelor’s degree in computer science. Within the last 10+ years, I had the privilege of working with USAID and CDC-funded projects to support Kenya’s Ministry of Health (MOH) in designing, developing, and implementing electronic medical data management systems. This rich experience has helped foster a good working relationship with funding agencies, Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) implementing partners, the Ministry of Health, and County Governments. I have positively contributed towards the development and implementation of EMRs and mHealth applications in use by the Ministry of Health (MOH).
Besides my vast technical experience, I possess excellent communication, leadership, and management skills. My current and previous experiences have given me an opportunity to lead a team of talented M&E Officers, Health Records Officers, Software Developers, ICT Officers, Data Managers, and Data Officers to deliver on HIS and Data administration and management functions within programs. I, directly and indirectly, lead a team of over 50 officers in implementing USAID Dumisha Afya’s strategic information unit.
