Over the past few years, I have undergone a multidisciplinary training as part of my master's degree in international development at the École supérieure d'Études Internationales of Laval University. Prior to this, I earned a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, where I honed my analytical and critical skills and acquired solid methodological competencies. Conducting research and crafting nuanced, precise, and relevant analyses are integral aspects of my skill set. As a recipient of several scholarships, I have distinguished myself throughout my academic and professional career, showcasing exceptional results, coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
My primary strength lies in research activities, analysis, and synthesis, honed through diverse engagements ranging from governmental instances to non-profits, mostly in the field of sustainable development. My expertise in sustainable development has diversified over the years. First, as a research assistant, I was asked to support an analysis of the obstacles to the Clean Development Mechanism's ability to contribute adequately to the UN's sustainable development goals; a contract that echoed my master's research, where I studied the link between climate justice and gender justice - two issues of particular interest to me.
In January of last year, I recognized the need to enhance my field experience, prompting me to journey to Nablus in Palestine. There, I devoted three months to working with Tomorrow's Youth, an organization committed to providing education and psychosocial care services to marginalized communities. Living in a region affected by conflict underscored my exceptional capacity for adaptability. I not only showed resilience but also learned to demonstrate initiative, creativity, and leadership, as I was responsible for developing and coordinating the Women’s Empowerments program. This position involved working with project developers and grant writers, as well as developing skills in monitoring and evaluation.
This experience echoes other engagement I had in the past years: as part of a member of the communication team at Lawyers Without Borders Canada, I took on the responsibility of crafting publications designed to simplify complex legal concepts, cases of gender-based violence or human rights violations.
I continued to apply similar skills in subsequent roles with prestigious organizations such as the International Carbon Action Partnership and Regions4 Sustainable Development. During my tenure in Germany, I had the opportunity to solidify and expand my skill set. I was tasked with providing general and versatile support, which included conducting research, as well as writing and editing reports and news articles. Simultaneously, I undertook a voluntary research contract for the international secretariat of Regions4, based in Brussels. My task was to generate a comprehensive briefing note focusing on the funding needs for climate adaptation at the regional level. This involved highlighting key findings, crafting recommendations, and presenting feasible ideas. Additionally, I conducted an in-depth study of funding opportunities, thereby contributing to strategic planning and resource allocation.
These experiences resonate with the numerous roles I held as a research assistant in an academic context.
Besides, I had the privilege of serving as an advisor in the International Relations office of the Quebec government's Ministry of the Environment. In this role, I actively contributed to the implementation of workshops and events organized for COP15 and COP27. My responsibilities demanded effective collaboration with team members, adept time management skills to meet tight deadlines, and a commitment to delivering high-quality information content, showcasing my capability to excel in dynamic and high-stakes situations.
In addition, I have over 7 years' experience in sales and customer service, having worked as a sales representative Telus, a telecommunications company.
