I currently work with JP Morgan Chase & Co as a Scrum Master where I have helped the team develop Agile values and principles into their project Management environment which has led to a faster delivery of high quality value to the business and to their customers.
Before transitioning to becoming a Scrum Master, I was a Health and Safety Specialist and particularly the Health and Safety Lead for my organization. During this period, I attended one event with my boss which is only latter on I came to understand that it was a Sprint Review meeting. It was in this event I first heard the word Agile, Scrum, it was here I had my first encounter with a scrum master. This drew my curiosity and interest into wanting to know what itโs all about I was very curious to know what it is all about. Asked questions to myself and others, dived into research learn more, took the PSM, FOUND NEW opportunities that took me away from whom I was to what I am now.
I started living this passion as a scrum master 5yrs ago where I helped my organization successfully deliver value to the business and by applying the scrum framework.
Within three to four months into the organization, I helped them establish a measurable metrics to help them tract the progress of the development team which has led to an increase in the value delivery from 60% to 90%.
I also helped the organization in establishing a cross functional and collaborative environment that is creative, supportive and open to one another, respected, trustworthy, focused and committed to their work to create high quality value. Helped coached the team to be self-organized, self-managed so as to help protect them from external influences, and permit them easily adapt to changes. All these increased the motivation of the team as well as increased the value delivery to the business and to their customers.
I created the first Agile Community of Practice in my previous organization, used to deliver training on Agile Was of Working) that helped transform the mindset of team member and the employees of the organization to adjust to Agile.
Through my couching, trainings and teachings, many employees and even top managers who had been hostile, resistant to change were transformed to start thinking agile. Resistance dropped drastically.
I trained and coached team members to be self-managed thus helping the team protect itself from external influences an help them easily adapt to change. This increase the performance of the team drastically
I have worked with teams that are geographically distributed and teams that are co-located.
My contract with my present organization is rounding up and that s why I decided to start looking for a new opportunity.
