When it comes to data science, I have tackled a wide and diverse spectrum of challenges.
In my current role I am responsible for the entire data-driven process, which means extraction, maintenance conventions and optimisation, as well as overview of top-down setup of objectives and strategy.
Certainly a challenge I will always be grateful for, as it helped to greatly edify my skills, but now trying to place myself inside a better structure with capacity to elaborate on more sophisticated approaches.
By working with various aspects of business intelligence and data analytics, I have developed a keen sense of observation that allows me to look beyond the problem and understand its root causes. Even more important than being able to solve problems, is being able to understand the problems that truly need to be solved.
In addition, over the years, I have gathered under my belt a lot of experience with SEO. Although, I do have to say, I am not quite the SEO writer, but rather more an SEO strategist. I love bringing a data-driven perspective into it and have been very successful in steadily working the almighty algorithm into boosting intended results.
I have directed many projects for optimising CTR for email campaigns, boosting ROI on PPC, improving website customer journeys and building bespoken metric scores for things that are usually hard to measure, e.g. written content engagement. Among other things that would be too numerous to list on a cover letter that is already almost too long for the attention span of the average modern human being.
Moreover, another skill I can boast โ which I have to mention here, as it would feel inadequate on a regular CV โ would be the spontaneous sense of fun I can bring into every task. I take every challenge as my ultimate quest and am committed to bring each objective to its most satisfying conclusion.
On the other hand, Iโm also aware sometimes solving a problem is more a matter of understanding who to ask for help, as much as it is to whiz your way through it. Thatโs when I benefit from being a good communicator who is able to understand the best people to collaborate with.
Additionally, I can also be a good conveyor of knowledge across the organisation and impart relevant know-how to different sectors of the business whenever needed.
Yes, I do have relevant experience in the field, but I can be humble enough to recognise that the field is diverse enough that one might spend an entire life and still unexpectedly bump into a new and never-seen-before challenge. In which case, I would say my most important strength would not be as much how many standard things I have done before or how many digital tools I know how to use โ they are all the same, anyway โ but rather my capacity to face unexpected problems and be able to successfully get over them until the objective is achieved. Whatever such objective might be.
