Remote worker with 4+ years of experience - Last seen ago

Growing up, I always said I wanted to be a police officer - until I realized Iโ€™d rather make peopleโ€™s days better than worse. That pivot led me to study kinesiology and work in gyms and physical therapy clinics, where I learned the realities of motivating people and the limits of traditional career tracks.

I later spent years in utility locating and service roles, keeping things moving but feeling stuck, wondering what was next. Everything changed when I joined Stryker as an OnSite Specialist at the VA in Palo Alto. With no medical background, I found myself supporting surgeons, residents, and hospital staff, quickly learning the technical ropes, automating everyday processes, and becoming the person people turned to for solutions - especially when it came to new technology and, eventually, AI.

What really shifted my trajectory was the release of ChatGPT in early 2023. What started as endless experimentation turned into a personal mission: could I build something real with this stuff? After two years of endless prompting and iteration, I've successfully shipped two RAG iOS apps - OpenAssistant and OpenCone, made two full websites to support them, and ultimately flipped my entire perspective on defines a software developer.

My approach is simple: treat everything as a system, ask good questions, and use AI as an extension of my own curiosity. Iโ€™m not a traditional developer - I learn by doing, adapt quickly, and thrive when solving open-ended problems.
