My name is Babatunde Olasayo Popoola, I graduated from the University of Lagos with a First Class in Linguistics/Yoruba. In the past, I have worked as a Research Assistant for many Projects at the University of Lagos and also joined some other projects as a translator and Annotator. Few among them is Yorùbá Indigenous Advertisement where when documents Indigenous advertisement and advertisement patterns in over 30 Yoruba communities in South-Western Nigeria, Kwara, by extension.

I have worked as a translator and annotator for many projects, among them are MasakhaNER Project, 1.0 where I translated over 1500 sentences from English to pidgin and were annotated based on their word class for machine learning. Yorùbá Indigenous Tales and Riddles well translated by me from Yorùbá to English, Decolonizing Science where I translated some science research work and created Yorùbá terminology for some medical terms.

I have also worked as a volunteer translator with Translators without Borders where I translated many Covid-19 Terminology from English to Yorùbá, Unilag103.1FM as a translator and a Newscaster and I am also working as a volunteer translator for Global Voices. As a Fresh Graduate, I am continuously contributing to the teaching of Yorùbá in primary School and Post Primary schools.

in recent years I have been consistently contributing to the teaching of Yoruba language in Primary and Secondary schools in Lagos Nigeria. I have also handled several private tutorials where I taught "Yoruba as second Language" both physically and on online platforms.

I also played a pivotal role in translating Yorùbá Indigenous Tales and Riddles into English. In another challenging endeavor, I contributed to the "Decolonizing Science" project, where I translated scientific research materials and developed Yoruba terminology for complex medical concepts.

Beyond the academic sphere, I dedicated my time as a volunteer translator with Translators without Borders, where I translated crucial Covid-19 terminology from English to Yoruba. I expanded my horizons by serving as a translator and newscaster at Unilag 103.1FM and continued my volunteer translation work with Global Voices. Even as a recent graduate, I remain committed to imparting knowledge by contributing to the teaching of Yoruba in primary and secondary schools.

In recent years, I have consistently extended my reach into the education sector by actively participating in the teaching of Yoruba language to students in primary and secondary schools throughout Lagos, Nigeria. I have also conducted private tutorials, instructing "Yoruba as a Second Language" both in physical classrooms and through online platforms.
