I've been building since the age of 12. I built my first home with my father and brother at that age and I've been building ever since. Building homes taught me about having the correct tools, the ability to use them properly, and to get the job completed. During undergrad I studied philosophy, accounting, and eventually finished college with a BS in Finance. While studying finance I began analyzing financial statements of companies and developing screeners to find companies that met my own KPIs. During this time, I was beginning to realize that money was not what made the world go round like it had been for thousand of years. Money was becoming digitized through Bitcoin, credit cards, etc. and data was the new fringe for innovation. As I began to have a better understanding of markets and the psychology of market participants, I started to develop an analytical process for measuring the macroeconomic landscape. I was missing a set of skills to analyze financial data in a scalable way with my main mission of developing an application to handle to time consuming labor of keeping up with financial data. This began my studies in data science.
In August 2020, I began Bloom Institute of Technology (previously known as Lambda) and finished their Data Science program in April 2021. Finally, I was armed with the tech stack to clean, analyze, engineer, and store data in an efficient and scalable way. Thus I began building my application and continue to do so for the last 2 years.
I have 2 years of experience in data analytics and data science. For my internship at Story Squad I worked with OCR and developed the pipeline for cleaning, and preprocessing images in batches to be fed into the LSTM model (OCR) and currently I am focused on time series analysis. I am comfortable with Python, PostgreSQL, Linux, Jupyter Notebooks, Github, Flask, Plotly Dash, Tableau, PySpark, Databricks, Docker, and machine learning. I can absolutely learn new skill sets and have a history of great relationships with clients and team members.
