Hi!

David here, a South African born digital nomad currently in London and off to Spain soon! I hold a Portuguese passport which allows me ease of travel.

I am a digital product manager and product owner at my core, having spent most of my career in the digital space in these roles. I have enjoyed and worked with mostly smaller teams and clients. This has meant wearing multiple hats and fulfilling various roles. My day-to-days are mostly: working with internal and external stakeholders to define user requirements, translating that into developer and design ready tasks, iterating to achieve the end goal and facilitate the agile project while managing stakeholder expectations. I have done a lot of user experience design as well, creating low fidelity wireframes to hand over to UI designers, which involves a ton of user research, market and competitor analysis.

Here’s a brief look at some of my work:
I have worked in 2 socially focused companies: forgood.co.za which I helped build from the ground up - forgood is a marketplace which connects volunteers and donors with charities - where I managed an outsourced development team and worked to understand our users (charities) needs to develop a system that worked for them and our donors; umuzi.org where I managed a team and built a user focused recruitment process and system, and taught digital strategy shaped around design thinking - Umuzi is a tertiary learning institute that provides free education and training for young job seekers ready to enter the workforce. At both these organisations I managed teams, managed end-to-end projects and deadlines, and focused on our users experience and customer experience by researching and defining user stories, user journeys and user flows. Currently, I am consulting to a UK agency, blott.io, and working on 2 projects: www.doshi.app/, which is a crypto app for parents and their children based in the UK, on which I am project managing and doing UX for their beta iOS application; and ellos.ai, a life insurance review company based in the US, where we are building their website - currently under construction, but take a sneak peek here - ellos-staging.webflow.io/.

I love thinking about users, and love doing research. I am highly skilled in product management and people management in agile environments, and have amassed a great ability to create low fidelity wireframes which focus on information architecture and the functional flow for the user.

On a more personal note; I am a massive sports fan, dedicating weekend to watching F1, football and cricket! I love to travel and be outside my comfort zone, living in countries where I get to explore and grow through tough but rewarding experiences. It all started living in Thailand for a few months, and then Taiwan. Post-pandemic, I've been in London and soon Spain! I love the beach and warmer climates and would love to one day own a little beach bar on an island.
