Cynthia Muhonja is a business development specialist and philanthropist. She has close
to 5 years of experience in business development, NGO management and programs
design for start-ups, civil society organizations and companies. Cynthia currently works
with United Pensions Trustees, one of the leading pension companies in Ghana, as a
Grants Specialist where she supports and leads the company in raising financial inclusion
grants and investments from developmental stakeholders and donor agencies such as the
USAID, Global Innovation Fund, MasterCard Foundation and IFC. She is the founder and
executive director of Life Lifters Kenya, a women mentorship incubator that seeks to
build the next generation of economically empowered women in Africa. As an executive,
Cynthia leads the organization’s work in social change, gender equality, economic
empowerment and Education. In this role Cynthia has led the organization to acquire
strategic partnerships with international stakeholders such as She’s the First in New
York, Melton Foundation Boston USA, Akina Mama wa Africa Uganda and Akili Dada,
Nairobi Kenya. She has designed the organization’s programs, fundraised over USD
20,000 to support the programs and is currently leading the NGO towards building a
strong and sustainable brand. Cynthia has a background in technology and a strong
passion for entrepreneurship and development. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in
Management Information Systems from Ashesi University, Ghana
