I am a sub-editor with more than 10 years’ experience editing a regional newspaper as well as
creative stories, biographies and books.  I know how to panel beat stories and to fact check
so that they not only read well, but are factual.  I worked for 10 years at The EastAfrican, a regional newspaper published by Nation Media Group. My work involved working with writers and editors from Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe and Kenya. I was also the sub in charge of Rwanda Today, a pullout targeting the underserved Rwandan market. Apart from editing, I also filled in for the chief sub-editor, where I would be charged with planning the layout of stories in the newspaper and working with designers and photographers. I also edited books for publishers and individual authors. 
I have experience working with all types of people from farmers, designers, journalists and authors who all require different expertise and is one of the reasons I am a well-rounded editor.
I get great satisfaction in seeing an article, story, book or report I worked on get published. I am
especially proud that I have worked on several books that add to knowledge on African politics,
education and leadership.
