My interest in science spans as far back as I can remember. As a child, having a profound Biochemist as a father and his siblings all scientists of various fields, I watched and listened to them whenever they discuss science and I get curious about what they say to each other and wonder when will I have so much knowledge about things and life. I played with my father's magnifying glass, inspecting leaves, grass, bugs, and anything else I could find in my backyard, and I also do some constructions with any old materials I can lay my hands on.
The Alimentary canal was my favorites of all my drawings and I studied it perfectly before I was 8 years old. All of these gives me great joy when I was a child. My love for discovery and research increased further in high school as Iโm always eager to learn something new. I enrolled, and graduated as a science student with a particular fondness for biology.
I continued studying Microbiology at Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, where I was exposed to the real microbial world and was told to illuminate their world using various microbiological equipment from collection of samples to autoclaving, to fascinating view on the microscope and to the molecular level. While I enjoyed this course, I still wasn't sure the area of specialization to focus my studies. It wasn't until my final year research course, when I isolated Escherichia coli from water samples in three major dams in Ekiti State, a western state of Nigeria, and then studied the physiochemical and bacteriological properties. Then and there I discovered my true passion. I was motivated by the experiments thereby focused my studies on environmental microbiology. Excelling in this course, I graduated with a B.Sc. in Microbiology and furthered with a Post Graduate Diploma in Food Microbiology and a Master Degree in General Microbiology at the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Federal University of Science and Technology, Akure, Ondo State and University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos State, Nigeria respectively.
I hope to work in any field that gives room for learning , research and task completion and i look forward to a positive response.
Best Regards.
