Join us and say, “Hello future.”\n\n\nAbout The Role:\n\n\n\nThe Smart Contracts team is looking for engineers who can contribute to the Hedera services on the backend in Java and web3 APIs and tools consumed by front end community applications in Javascript/Typescript.\n\n* Develop various aspects of the Hedera Hashgraph Distributed Ledger Platform\n\n* Implement and enhance the Java based smart contract services on the Hedera network nodes that exposes EVM features\n\n* Implement and enhance the EVM and web3 focused API services and tools\n\n* Design and implement Ethereum Remote Procedure Call APIs\n\n* Develop sample applications to demonstrate value and strength of the platform. Sample applications will include web, mobile, and embedded development\n\n* Investigate E2E smart contract transaction execution details between the ledger and the API services\n\n* Be a strong and proficient hands-on programmer\n\n* Spend 80% of your time designing, coding, and testing\n\n\n\nSkills Needed:\n\n* Experience writing and debugging smart contracts for an EVM based ledger\n\n* Experience with distributed applications and web3 tools written in JavaScript or TypeScript\n\n* Good understanding of the Ethereum blockchain and ecosystem\n\n* Experience with blockchain (e.g., Bitcoin or Ethereum) protocol development is a plus\n\n* Expertise in the Java programming language and its ecosystem of libraries and tools\n\n* Deep knowledge of and experience with the Java VM, covering its strengths and weaknesses\n\n* Strong grasp of Computer Science fundamentals including concurrency, performance optimization, and reusability\n\n* Strong engineering principles and processes aimed at developing simple, modular, testable, and high-quality code\n\n* Familiarity with security principles, cryptographic tools and libraries\n\n* Familiarity with high-performance architectural systems and design patterns\n\n* Familiarity with test-driven software development processes and continuous integration tools and systems\n\n* Experience in developing libraries and platforms for use and deployment by application developers\n\n* Application development experience preferred\n\n* Systems programming experience including providing services to other software (e.g. operating systems, computational science applications, industrial automation, and SaaS applications) is a big plus\n\n* 7+ years of software development experience\n\n* Master's degree in Computer Science or similar field, or equivalent work experience\n\n\n
