The Opportunity\n\nThe mission of CZI Science is to support science and technology that will help make it possible to cure, prevent, or manage all diseases by the end of the century. To help achieve this mission, the Imaging Program aims to give researchers everywhere the tools to visualize and quantify the biological processes underlying health and disease. \n\nWe have identified three strategic pillars to achieve this goal:\nFrontiers. We support development of breakthrough technologies to enable imaging across spatial scales, in real time, throughout human body. \nCommunity. To help accelerate imaging technology development and dissemination, and expand global access to imaging technologies and expertise, we are supporting key individuals and organizations that act as critical nodes of dissemination and standardization\nAnalysis. We fund and build image analysis tools like napari, an interactive, multi-dimensional image viewer for Python, and fund Imaging Software Fellows \nWe are also preparing to launch the Institute for Advanced Biological Imaging to push forward revolutionary new imaging technologies through high-risk, high-reward projects. \n\nThe Imaging Program is seeking a Science Program Manager to join our team. In this role, you will work with the Program Lead for Community to assist and manage the development and operations of grant programs to foster a global representative imaging community, including programs in progress, planned, or future programs to be developed. You will coordinate closely with the rest of the CZI Science team, CZI Technology team, and the external community; you will be a public advocate of CZIโs mission and our priorities and you will contribute to shaping our strategic directions in this area.\n\nThe ideal candidate will have deep, hands-on expertise in biological and/or medical imaging. Key qualities are (1) experience with imaging technology development (2) a passion for community engagement and (3) strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and work across a diversity of expertise. \nYou will\n\n\nWork closely with Science Program Officers, Program Leads, Data Scientists, and Technology Staff to help evaluate, define, and lead programs in imaging\n\nWork closely with grantees to help drive community-building projects, including regular calls, and in-person visits of granteesโ labs and imaging facilities\n\nRepresent the programs to the outside community through participation in and presentations at imaging related meetings, conferences, and workshops\n\nDrive internal and external community engagement, including planning and running meetings, webinars, and workshops, and engage in outreach to ensure connections to grantees, partners, stakeholders, and imaging communities\n\nConduct landscape research to identify challenges and opportunities in advancing bioimaging globally, and write reports on the findings for internal and external audience\n\nSupport the grant-making process for current and future programs, including the strategy development, process, review, selection of the awardees, and relationship management.\n\n\n\nYou have\n\n\nPhD degree or equivalent experience in biological imaging, medical imaging or similar field\n\n3+ years of experience in physical or virtual community-building and/or outreach activities, including jamboree/hackathon planning, workshop or conference organization, hosting tutorials, etc.\n\nStrong understanding/experience with imaging technology development\n\nExcellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and work with stakeholders from different backgrounds and at different career stages\n\nAbility to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities\n\nStrong desire to accelerate scientific discovery and increase accessibility to science technology globally\n\nExcellent writing and analytical skills\n\nKnowledge of organizational psychology is a plus\n\n\n\n\n#LI-Remote \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
