We are Leaf\n\nLeaf is on a mission to upend the way companies buy and sell transportation. Every year, billions of dollars, hundreds of megatons of carbon and millions of person-hours are wasted because the companies who ship goods and the companies who carry them arenโt upfront about their needs and abilities. Our platform finds ways for buyers and sellers to contract binding commitments for plannable and predictable freight and allows those contracts to be traded when needs change. In time, Leaf will become the hub through which the trillion-dollar American freight market is managed.\n\nWe are a team of experienced, smart, and mildly disagreeable troublemakers who like taking on unreasonably big challenges; we know how to build things, weโve lived whatโs broken in this industry, and weโre looking for bright, ambitious people to help us drag the transportation world kicking and screaming into the 21st century.\n\nWhat does a Lead Frontend Engineer do? \n\nAs the frontend lead you will make decisions on the overall architecture, processes, design and usability of the platform and mentor the other developers. You will work closely together with designers and other engineers to advance the development of our modern web platform and deliver exciting new experiences to our customers. By rigorously leveraging collected data, e.g. through user analytics, you will transform complex processes into insightful user experiences. The role will challenge you to work in a highly agile environment and address strategic and engineering topics.\n\nWho doesn't?\n\nWhat weโre trying to do is hard. Technically difficult some of the time, but also hard because weโre asking for big changes from people who are usually very comfortable doing things the way theyโve always been done. There is a lot of frustration, and itโs easy to put a lot of work into something that doesnโt bear fruit. But weโre here to put a big dent in a gigantic industry, something weโll all be proud of a decade from now. \nย \nWeโre also a startup. Priorities change all the time, somethingโs always on fire, and thereโs twice as much work to do as hands to do it. Itโs uncomfortable, new challenges surface constantly, and that means itโs up to you to manage how you spend your time in the midst of conflicting priorities.ย \nย \nWeโre well-funded, with advisors and investors whoโve built legendary companies. But weโre also deploying that capital aggressively, so you should expect uncertainty and discomfort. \nย \nIf the above sounds daunting, youโre a perfectly sound and reasonable person who probably wonโt fit in at Leaf. If this strikes you as an exhilarating milieu, well, letโs talk.\n\n\nCompensation\n\nLeaf offers a very comprehensive compensation package including competitive base salary, variable compensation and health benefits.\nย \nLeaf Logistics is an equal-opportunity employer and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If youโre a passionate team player who wants to have an outsized impact on a diverse and dynamic team, weโd love to hear from you! \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
