Weโre stronger together, and youโre a person who embraces being pushed out of your comfort zone. \n\n\n\n\nAs a Push Payments Analyst on the Payments Risk Operations team, youโll be fully responsible for identifying and mitigating payments fraud risk on one of our critical payment rails without negatively impacting core metrics and the broader customer experience. This role will report to the Manager of Push Payments within Payments Risk Operations, and will be based remotely in the United Kingdom. \n\nWhat youโll be doing (ie. job duties):\n\n\nIdentify, investigate and mitigate fraudulent European payment methods (SEPA, iDEAL, UK Faster Payments, etc.) deposit activity.\n\nImplement logic targeting bad actors and high-risk behavior associated with unauthorized deposit activity across multiple regions.\n\nReview and respond to alerts regarding anomalous customer and transaction behavior.\n\nMeasure fraud performance across European payment methods, develop core metrics, and create dashboards to track and understand them.\n\nProactively identify and close gaps in our monitoring.\n\nOwn risk controls from end-to-end and scale processes to provide appropriate coverage as we expand our business.\n\nOwn reporting processes and communication with relevant banking partners.\n\nWork with internal stakeholders in Product, Growth, Data Science and Engineering to develop and drive forward custom risk management strategies and techniques for different geographies.\n\nUse data to make risk decisions impacting large segments of our customer population; effectively measure and assess associated tradeoffs using quantitative analysis.\n\nSynthesize data learnings into compelling stories and communicate them to Payments Risk leadership.\n\n\n\n\nWhat we look for in you (ie. job requirements):\n\n\n4+ years relevant experience.\n\n2+ years fighting UK Faster Payments or other push payment fraud in an e-commerce or financial services environment.\n\n2+ years of experience in data analysis, working with databases, and querying (e.g., SQL, MySQL, etc).\n\nBA / BS degree or equivalent practical experience.\n\nStrong knowledge of European monetary policy, push payment processes, and fraud claim investigations.\n\nA passion for fighting fraud and abuse, and the curiosity to self-drive investigations, identify patterns, and find the root cause.\n\nExperience in data analyses using SQL.\n\nExperience with data visualization and storytelling using Looker, Tableau or other business intelligence platforms.\n\nBe able to independently create plans for analytics projects and build collaboration within the team.\n\nDemonstrate our core cultural values: clear communication, positive energy, continuous learning, and efficient execution.\n\n\n\n\nNice to haves:\n\n\nUnderstanding of statistical concepts and experience in applying them.\n\nExperience working with quantitative tools such as Python or R.\n\nExperience working with machine learning models and teams.\n\nAn understanding of blockchain analytics and/or fraud trends within the cryptocurrency ecosystem.\n\n\n\n\nPID: P50522\nCommitment to Equal Opportunity\n\nCoinbase is committed to diversity in its workforce and is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
